Festival Pelestarian Tradisi Buang Jong 2018 dilaksanakan pada 10 – 11 Februari 2018, bertempat di Komunitas Suku Sawang Desa Selinsing dan Pantai Gusong Cine Desa Penyu Kec. Gantung. Acara ini dihadiri oleh Wabub. Belitung Timur Drs. Burhanudin, Forkopimda, Kadisbudpar Beltim, Ketua ASPPI Babel, operator tour & travel Pulau Belitung dan masyarakat Belitung Timur. Pada tradisi buang jong terdapat kegiatan RITUAL seperti atraksi ancak, jitun dan ke pulau taun dan ATRAKSI BUDAYA tari gajah manunggang, tari sampan gelek dan campak laut. Tujuan dilaksanakan festival pelestarian buang jong 2018 oleh Disbudpar Belitung Timur adalah untuk menggali, melestarikan dan mempromosikan tradisi buang jong Suku Sawang sebagai salah satu potensi wisata budaya di Belitung Timur.
The festival of Pelestarian Tradisi Buang Jong 2018 was held on February 10th-11th 2018, located at Sawang tribe community in Selinsing village and Gusong Cine beach in Batu Penyu village, the district of Gantung. The event was attended by the Vice-Regent of Belitung Timur, Drs. Burhanudin, Forkopimda, the head of Culture and Tourism Office of Belitung Timur Regency, tour and travel of Belitung Island and the people of Belitung Timur. There are some rituals in the festival of Pelestarian Tradisi Buang Jong event. The rituals are ancak, jitun and ke pulau taun attraction and other cultural attractions such as gajah manunggang dance, sampan geleng dance and campak laut. The purpose of the event which was held by the Culture and Tourism Office of Belitung Timur Regency was exploring, conserving, and promoting the tradition of Buang Jong by the Sawang tribe as one of the cultural tourism potentials of Belitung Timur Regency.
